The Electrical safety check we perform at G.E.C Electrical Mornington is for Electrical safety purposes only and is in accordance with the requirements of the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021 and is prepared in accordance with section 2 & tested to comply with section 3-4 of the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3019, Electrical installations--
Periodic verification ever 2 years to confirm that the installation is not damaged or has not deteriorated so as to impair electrical safety; and to identify installation defects that may give rise to danger.

It is now mandatory that every Residential Rental property in Victoria has a 2 yearly Electrical & Gas Safety check

When testing is complete an Electrical & Gas safety certificate will be issued (not to be confused with a CES) this is valid for a 2 year period and only verifies at time of testing that the parts of the installation that were tested complied with AS/NZS 3019 SECTIONS 3&4 PLUS Gas Safety (Gas Installation) Regulation 2018 which now mandate AS 4575 Gas of Type A appliances checks this does not guarantee future electrical & Gas safety of the installation.
If the Installation does not meet minimum requirements of the testing Requirments then Observation and recommendations for futher actions will be provided . The Owner of the rental property will be required to hire a Registered Electrical contractor (REC) or Gas Plumber registered to The Building and Plumbing Commission to carry out the repair work.
